How to Be a Cheapskate Without Being an Insane Miser: Helpful Tips from the Show ‘Extreme Cheapskates’

If you’re like me, you love watching reality shows. And if you’re like me, you also love saving money. So when I came across the show Extreme Cheapskates, I knew I had to watch it. This show is all about people who go to extreme lengths to save money. But is it really worth watching? In this post, I’ll give my opinion on the show and share some tips on how to be a cheap skate without being an insane miser.

1. They have financial goals.

One of the things I noticed about the people on the show is that they all had financial goals. They weren’t just trying to save money for the sake of saving money. They had a specific goal in mind, whether it was to retire early, pay off debt, or build up their emergency fund. And I think that’s key. If you’re just trying to save money without a specific goal in mind, it’s easy to get frustrated and give up. But if you have a goal that you’re working towards, it’s much easier to stay motivated.

2. They Keep Track of Expenses

One of the things that I noticed about the people on the show is that they keep track of their expenses. They know exactly how much they’re spending on everything, from groceries to gas. And they make sure to stay within their budget. If you want to save money, you need to do this too. Keep track of your expenses and make sure you’re not spending more than you can afford.

3. Many of Them are Minimalists

First of all, I want to say that the people on this show are not typical cheapskates. Many of them are minimalists who live very simple lives. And while there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s not necessarily something that we can all relate to. Some of the things they do on the show, like using a bucket as a toilet, are just too extreme for most people.

4. They Do Not Waste Things

The first thing you need to know about Extreme Cheapskates is that the people on the show are not wasting things. They are using everything they have to its fullest potential. For example, one woman uses old newspapers as toilet paper and another man only washes his clothes once a year. While some of the methods may seem extreme, they are actually saving a lot of money by doing this.

5. They Do Not Replace Items as Often

One thing I noticed is that the people on the show do not replace items as often as most people do. They hold onto things until they absolutely cannot be used anymore. While this might save some money in the short-term, it’s not necessarily a good long-term strategy. Eventually, you will have to replace those items and you might end up spending more money in the long run.

6. They Share or Borrow Things

Another thing I noticed about the people on the show is that they are always looking for ways to save money. They are always looking for deals and coupons. They are always trying to find ways to get what they want for less. And while this can be time-consuming, it can definitely save you money in the long run.

7. They Use or Reuse What They Have First

Another thing I noticed is that the people on the show are frugal. They know how to get the most for their money. They are always looking for ways to save. For example, one man on the show buys all of his clothes from thrift stores. He has saved thousands of dollars by doing this. You don’t-have to shop at thrift stores, but you could start looking for ways to get more for your money.

8. Willing to Work a Little Harder .
