1. Windows + L

By now, you should know how to do all of the computer basics. But there are a few computer tricks that can make your life a little easier. For example, if you’re working on something and you need to quickly lock your computer, all you have to do is press the Windows key + L. This will save your work and take you to the lock screen.
2. CTRL + T

Did you know that by holding down the CTRL key and then pressing T, you can open a new tab in your internet browser? This little computer trick can save you loads of time if you’re someone who likes to have several tabs open at once.
3. Windows + D

You know that feeling when your computer screen is just too cluttered and busy? Maybe there are too many tabs open or maybe you have a ton of files pulled up. Whatever the case, you can quickly and easily clear your computer screen by hitting the Windows key (it’s that key with the little Microsoft logo on it) and then “D” at the same time. Your computer will go to its desktop view, which is nice and clean and clutter-free.
4. CTRL + L

Did you know that if you want to quickly open up your internet browser and go to a specific website, all you have to do is type in “CTRL + L”? Instead of clicking on the little icon in the top left corner of your computer screen and then scrolling through a million tabs to find the one you’re looking for, simply pressing “CTRL + L” will do the trick.
5. CTRL + W

We all know how annoying it can be to have too many tabs open, and then not being able to find the ‘X’ to close them. Well, next time you’re in that situation, just hit CTRL + W on your keyboard. This shortcut will immediately close the tab that you’re currently on.
6. ALT + TAB

This computer trick is a lifesaver when you have too many tabs open and you can’t find the one you’re looking for. All you have to do is hold down the ALT key and then press the TAB key. This will bring up a thumbnail of all the tabs you have open. Keep pressing TAB until you find the one you’re looking for and then let go of both keys.
7. CTRL + BKSP

Did you know that hitting CTRL + BKSP will delete an entire word instead of just one letter at a time? If not, now you do! And this is just the beginning.
