Dropping your phone in water is one of the worst things that can happen. Not only does it ruin your phone, but it can also be a costly mistake. If you’re lucky, your insurance will cover the cost of a new phone. But what if you’re not so lucky? What if you don’t have insurance? Can you still save your phone from water damage? In this blog post, we will explore some tips and tricks for saving your phone from water damage. Stay dry out there!

1. Turn it off!

If you drop your phone in water, the first thing you should do is turn it off. If your phone is on when it goes into the water, it will short circuit and die. If you can’t turn it off, then take the battery out. This will stop the electrical current from running through the phone and causing further damage.

2. Remove all water.

Once you’ve turned it off or taken the battery out, you need to dry it off as much as possible. Use a towel to soak up any water on the outside of the phone. Then, use a vacuum cleaner with the hose attachment to suck out any water from the inside of the phone. Be careful not to press too hard, as you don’t want to damage the internal components of your phone.

3. Rice.

If you have a bag of rice, now is the time to use it. Rice is a natural desiccant, which means it absorbs moisture. Put your phone in a bag of rice and seal it up. Let it sit for 24-48 hours, and the rice will absorb any moisture from your phone.

After 24-48 hours, take your phone out of the rice and try to turn it on. If it turns on, great! You’ve successfully saved your phone from water damage.

Of course, the best way to avoid water damage is to keep your electronics away from water in the first place. But if that’s not possible, now you know what to do.
