Saving money can be a challenge, but it’s definitely not impossible. In fact, with the right tips and tricks, you can start saving money without even trying. Just as there are life hacks to make your life easier, there are money-saving hacks to make saving money easier.

In this blog post, I’m going to share 20 of my favorite hacks for saving more money. Follow these tips and you’ll be able to save more while stressing less.

1. Get an E-Reader

If you’re a big reader, buying physical books can get expensive. With an e-reader, you can buy digital versions of your favorite books for a fraction of the price. Plus, you’ll never have to worry about losing or damaging your books.

2. Get Books From the Library

One simple way to save money is to get books from the library instead of buying them. This hack works especially well if you’re a voracious reader. Not only will you save money on books, but you’ll also have access to a wider range of titles than you would if you were only buying books.

3. Setup Automatic Credit Card Payments

This way, you’ll never have to worry about forgetting to make a payment or being late on a payment. Plus, you’ll likely get a lower interest rate if you pay your balance in full each month.

4. Automate Your Investing

One of the best ways to save money is to automate your investments. This way, you can set it and forget it. There are a number of different apps and platforms that allow you to do this, so find one that works for you and get started.

5. Automatically Find the Best Coupon Codes Online

One of the easiest ways to save money is to automatically find the best coupon codes online. There are a few different ways to do this, but my favorite is using a extension like Honey. With Honey, all you have to do is install the extension and it will automatically apply the best coupons whenever you’re shopping online. If you’re not using a extension like Honey, you’re likely missing out on easy savings.

6. Do a Money-Saving Challenge

There are tons of different challenges you can do, but my personal favorite is the 52-week money challenge. With this challenge, you start by saving $52 in week one, and then increase your savings by $52 each week after that. So in week two, you’d save $104, and in week three, you’d save $156. By the end of the year, you’ll have saved over $1300!

7. Get a Piggy Bank

Whenever you have spare change, put it in your piggy bank. You’d be surprised how quickly the money adds up. Another easy way to save is to set aside a small amount of money each week or month into a savings account. This way, you’ll have money saved up in case of an emergency.

8. Automatically Save Your Spare Change

One of the easiest ways to save money is to automatically transfer your spare change into a savings account. This way, you won’t even miss the money and it will start to add up over time.

9. Buy Refurbished Electronics

You can often find great deals on laptops, phones, and other devices that have been previously used. Another way to save money is to use coupons. Whether you’re shopping online or in-store, be sure to look for coupons that can help you save money on your purchase.

10. Get the Most for Your Money Online

By shopping online, you can compare prices and find the best deals on the items you need. You can also take advantage of coupons and promo codes to get even more savings. Another great way to save money is by using cashback websites when you shop. With cashback sites, you can earn a percentage of your purchase back in the form of cashback.

Whenever you shop, be sure to keep an eye out for sales and clearance items. You’d be surprised at how much money you can save just by waiting for items to go on sale. Another great way to save money is by buying in bulk. When you buy in bulk, you can usually get a discount on your purchase. This is a great way to save money on items that you use frequently.

11. Collect Rainwater

You can use this water for watering your plants or cleaning your car. This will save you money on your water bill each month.

12. Get a High-Interest Savings Account

Get a high-interest savings account – By placing your money in a high-interest savings account, you can earn interest on your balance, which can help you reach your financial goals faster.

13. Buy in Bulk

One of the best ways to save money is to buy in bulk. When you buy in bulk, you can get a great deal on items that you use regularly. Plus, if you have a large family, buying in bulk can help you save even more.

14. Automatically Get Money Back when Prices Drop

Have you ever bought something only to see the price drop a few days later? It’s frustrating, but there’s actually a way to get that money back. With websites like Paribus and Earny, you can automatically get refunded for the difference. All you have to do is sign up and connect your email account or Amazon account and they’ll do the rest.

15. Order Water at Restaurants

One of the easiest ways to save money is to order water when you’re out at a restaurant. Ordering alcohol, soda, or even juices can add up quickly, but water is almost always free. If you’re really set on having something else to drink, try to find a place that has happy hour specials.

16. Buy a Water Bottle

By doing this, you’ll be less likely to spend money on bottled water when you’re out and about. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also be helping the environment by reducing your reliance on plastic water bottles.

17.  Install a Programmable Thermostat

This is a great way to save on your energy bill. By setting your thermostat to automatically turn off when you’re not home, you can significantly reduce your energy usage.

18. Lower Your Bills Automatically

One of the easiest ways to save money is to lower your monthly bills. You can do this by calling your service providers and negotiating for a lower rate. You’d be surprised how often they’re willing to give you a discount, especially if you’re a loyal customer.

19. Automatically Find and Cancel Unused Subscriptions

There are a few different ways to do this, but my favorite is Trim. Trim is a free app that helps you find and cancel unused subscriptions with the click of a button. All you have to do is connect your bank account and Trim will go through your transactions to find any subscriptions that you’re paying for but not using. Once they find them, they’ll cancel them for you so that you can start saving money immediately.

20. Opt for Quality

It may cost a bit more upfront, but in the long run, you’ll save money by not having to replace items as often. For example, invest in a good pair of shoes instead of buying a new cheap pair every few months. The same goes for clothes, furniture, and pretty much everything else.
